Updates from last week:
Daily Emails: We started today’s episode off with an update on what we’ve accomplished since our last episode and one of the things we’ve both been doing is the Ben Settle method of daily emails.
This has surprised both of us beyond our wildest dreams.
We’ve both been pretty consistent about emailing our lists daily and have both seen great results from this effort. Initially when we started doing the daily emails it was a little challenging to come up with email subject lines and content.
But like everything else online, the more you do something consistently the easier it’s going to get. This is especially true with writing.
When I initially wrote content it would take a while to get through a post. Even if I knew what I wanted to write about… I think the idea of writing something and hitting ‘publish’ made me a little nervous.
Our Affiliate Marketing Updates
We’ve both seen an increase in our affiliate income based on the efforts of our daily emails and social sharing (currently neither of us are running ads for any affiliate products but will be running ads in the next month or so and will let you know how that goes).
From the time we started this show to now I will have just about tripled my affiliate income from Thrive.
With ONE post.
And the daily emails.
Jon has seen an increase in his Beaver Builder affiliate income as well.
You’ll get a few very specific content strategies for affiliate marketing with content in this episode as well (Jon shared what he did with Beaver Builder when it first came out and I gave a couple examples of what I have done and could do with Thrive).
Start thinking about what this looks like when you’re doing this for a handful of products.

Promoting Products you DON’T use and Love
Jon shared a great example of someone who promoted a coffee product through Amazon but did so by purchasing the incorrect spelling of the product (because it’s searched so frequently and has a little bit of a tricky name).

But this is the long-term strategy that will keep paying you over and over.
Jon inspired me to come up with a new challenge.
We’re going to pick something outside of our own space (no WordPress, software, hosting, etc. ) and run an experiment as affiliates.
We’ll announce what that product is in episode 113 (our next episode is an interview with Ben Settle, so you’ll have to wait one more week).
Jon shared an example of how he’s promoted a beard product on his social platforms… even though that has nothing to do with his business. It’s a product he uses, finds value in and simply wants to share it with people who follow him. He’s not afraid of putting things out there (this is a whole other conversation around mindset and not being afraid to put things out there).
